Like I said here, Donna and I attended the recently conducted Metrowear Filipiniana. It’s a 100-piece fashion show by Metro Magazine (outfit here). I’ll cut to the chase and proceed with the pictures and narrate through captions, coz this post is going to be photoheavy – it’ll be worth it though. πŸ˜‰
Venue for the show was Harbour Garden Tent at Sofitel
I attended with Donna
and the first person we saw was designer Louis Claparols (who I grabbed these 2 photos from)
the SM LTBG team was also there
 bringing sexy back
Miriam Girls reunite: Ingrid and Trina
we also got the chance to visit the backstage
Valerie de los Santos
Ria Bolivar in her corner of the backstage
Wendy Tabusalla in Nolie Hans
Sanya Smith in Enrico Carado, Girlie Benitez in John Herrera, Mia Ayesa in Oskar Peralta, Ornusa Cadness in Ferdie Abuel
Irish Ong in Dita Sandico Ong
Grace Tagle Arigo, Dindi de Leon, designer Dita Sandico Ong, Val de los Santos
it was the first time Donna and I attended a show together and not be working the backstage, it really was a different experience to see the calm in the runway as compared to the chaotic backstage πŸ™‚
Monique was also our seatmate in the third row
sketches were part of the AVP as well, I believe this one’s the Enrico Carado dress worn by Sanya, though I’m not sure 😐
this, I’m sure, is the JC Buendia creation πŸ™‚
host for the night was Angel Jacob
live music was performed by the String Minstrels. Oh my goodness, they blew me away!!!!!! they played orchestra versions of pinoy classics and modern rock. I tried noting the playlist but the clothes distracted me, all I know is that they opened with South Border’s Rainbow, and they played my favorites: Tuwing Umuulan at Kapiling Ka, Ang Huling El Bimbo, and a Rico Blanco medley which was beyond awesome (at this part, it was the music that distracted me and not the clothes. haha!) They were really good! Truly a perfect match to the show πŸ™‚

Metrowear Filipiniana, I believe, was a successful event. Showcasing 100 designers in their interpretation of the traditional terno, it was definitely fashionalism at its best. The music was eargasmic and it was the perfect accompaniment to the outfits. It truly was such a beautiful show. Congratulations Metro Magazine, JCA Productions, the 100 designers, the models, the dressers, the String Minstrels, and to everyone involved in this production, bravo! πŸ™‚
