April 24, 2012 – From near our hostel in Jalan Besar (Singapore), we took the bus to Johor Bahru (Malaysia) where a) we got left behind by our original bus from Singapore immigration to Malaysia causing us much panic coz we didn’t wanna spend the night there. Thank God it was the second to the last bus that left us! b) got super praning by the bus leaving us that we ran our way through Malaysia immigration and I found myself flat on the floor (hahaha) and c) a foreigner’s nightmare at Johor Bahru – a very rude group of pigs working for a bus company trying to get us to choose their bus for KL. Since Marla already did her research, we knew exactly which bus we wanted to take and when we found its counter, they started cursing at us, throwing us death stares and worst- a used cigarette. 😐
With those said, you’d think I’d have nothing but rants about Malaysia, but no. The Malaysians we’ve encountered later on that day were nothing but nice! Starting from the Transnational counter lady who, upon seeing our distress, asked the driver to fetch us. 🙂 After finally being able to sleep properly in our comfy hotel beds, we walked to the nearby mall and had lunch before visiting the Batu Caves (conquered the 272 steps!) and the Thean Hou temple. We then had our last supper in the Skybar of Traders Hotel where we were treated to a spectacular view of the Petronas Towers. 🙂 The Petronas Towers at night is not overrated!! Took the bus back to SG the next day then parted our ways in the Green Line as they went to Changi and I went to Pasir Ris to visit Tita Mato and family. 🙂

check out the 272 steps we climbed!
monkey family – there were a lot of monkey roaming around!
rest muna! haha
Irish getting an “authentic” henna tattoo
was looking for the coconut pudding in Kota Kinabalu but I failed – had coconut juice instead 🙂
the lady who did this said that they really make these for their husbands and the designs are intricate because it symbolizes their love for them
getting lost while traveling never really means being lost, it’s just more time for exploration 😉
Thean Hou Temple
 loooove the paper lanterns 🙂
our first glimpse of the Petronas Towers at night, impressive!

ang ganda niya talaga! wasn’t really impressed when we saw it in the morning but with the sun out and the towers’ lights on – WOW.
really lucky to have a friend like Marla who planned our itinerary and made sure we got to see the best of Kuala Lumpur in just ONE day 🙂
Guinness and Tiger
Cheers! 🙂

So guys, if you have only 1 day in Malaysia – Batu Caves, Thean Hou Temple, Skybar at Traders Hotel for a stunning view of the Petronas Towers. Make sure you have amazing friends by your side! 😉
