Quite the contrast from the light and airy MBS outfit, I donned this black dress when we went to see Le Noir. I won’t say anything more about the show other than it was amazing(!) coz I have an upcoming post all about it, so watch out for that. In the meantime, let me rave about noir – the color, not the show.
The little black dress has been a wardrobe staple since the late 20s, with Vogue declaring it “a uniform for all women of taste” (November 1926). No surprise there because black is a very versatile and very flattering color. It is equal parts sexy and classy; simple and elegant. Almost a century later, women all over the world still swear by this iconic fashion piece; and I am one of them.
Wearing black is the easiest way to dress up. You don’t need tons of accessories to up your game, a black dress already has enough game. I let this ruffled dress (that looks like it had some YSL influence) speak for itself by foregoing the arm candy and sticking with my charm bracelet. Simple yet put together, that is the magic of black dresses. Don’t you agree?
