My second day in Manila was definitely more relaxed than the first. I only had one thing planned and that was to spend time with my Roxas family. Ours is a very close family with a weekly Sunday get together and since I’ve been missing out a lot of those, they brought me to one of their current favourites – Mama Lou’s Italian Kitchen in the south.

Mama Lou’s is located at Block 1 Lot 36 Tropical Avenue corner Palace Street BF International, Las Piñas City, 1700 Metro Manila, Philippines

First up, the truffle mac and cheese.

Yummy yummy half and half pizza. Mama Lou’s Special on one side – tomato, mozzarella, prosciutto, mango, arugula, balsamic cream – and quattro formaggi – mozzarella, brie, cheddar, and blue cheese – on the other.

Mozzarella sticks because Roxas cousins love love love mozzarella sticks. Yup, this was for us “kids”. “Cousins only!!!” hahaha
I didn’t get to try the other dishes but I’m not complaining coz we had seconds and even thirds of these favorites. With their rustic yet tasty comfort food, I could definitely understand why my family frequents Mama Lou’s. It’s a place for hearty meals that’s best shared with the people closest to your heart.
