Love we need it now
Let’s hope for some
Cause oh, we’re bleeding out
-Ho Hey by The Lumineers ♬
I’ve been feeling quite burnt out lately. And it made me think. Considering it’s supposed to be the condition of someone who has become very physically and emotionally tired after doing a difficult job for a long time, am I even allowed to be burnt out!?  To be honest, there’s no reason for me to be as everything has pretty much been low stress. But as I scrolled through the definition – I’m using the Merriam Webster app – I was struck by this: exhaustion of physical or emotional strength or motivation usually as a result of prolonged stress or frustration. Ahaaaa! There’s where the burnout feeling is coming from.. frustration. Not from the excess but from the lack of. Oh gosh, I know, I’m sounding like a spoiled brat right now but who here agrees not embracing your maximum potential can be so draining? Knowing you have more to offer can make life seem underwhelming. Going though the mundane becomes bearable when you balance it with things you find worthwhile such as creative outlets like blogging or you know, being a superhero like Oliver Queen (sorry, I’m having a huge Arrow phase right now). You can’t choose what life throws at you but you can choose what to do with it. It’s time to turn the ho hums into ho heys. Much like The Lumineers’ song, you can either see it as depressing or beautiful.

xx
