Last December, we got the chance to shoot both the local and international ads of French-Filipino pearl brand, Jewelmer. Known for their line-up of beautiful endorsers (see their ad with Manila’s supermodels), the exquisite Palawan South Sea pearls were modeled by Jenny Rockett aka my favorite Candy girl. 🙂 During the shoot, I got the chance to talk to Mia of Jewelmer about their pearls. A lot of work go into every piece as they make sure the pearls’ size, color, etc match with each other, and harvesting pearls is not an overnight thing. What amazed me the most about the brand is that they do invest in taking care of Palawan. They educate the masses in conserving the environment and they even have livelihood programs to help the community out. How cool is that? What’s not cool is I learned that if the ocean temperature drops a certain degree, microcreatures won’t survive, and food chain wise, it will affect everything. I can’t remember the exact details, but isn’t that thought enough to be more planet conscious?

i like jenny rockett, she has awesome skin and smile! i once read how pearls are 'harvested'. timing is everything. and enjoy davao! ive been there once, you must go to samal island!
