Took Monday off to finally collect my renewed passport at the Philippine Embassy. Ever since finding out they’re no longer open on Sundays, I’ve been procrastinating collection because I am very stingy with my leaves as I’d rather spend them on travel. But since I’m leaving for Boracay later, Monday was the personal deadline to get it over and done with. (I still strongly feel that they should have courier option for these things!)
When they were voiding my previous passport, I couldn’t help but feel a pang of nostalgia as it was like saying goodbye to a dear friend and a constant partner. My passport collection day became a passport recollection day. Not only was it my most utilised passport to date, it had witnessed some crucial early 20s events. The first time I traveled alone (#europe2011), the first time I went abroad with friends, the time I moved to Singapore, finally going to Paris (#europe2013), the list goes on. It’s 5 years of my life there. But as I looked at the blank pages of the new one, I realize – it’s 5 years of my life ahead.
Hopefully, I fill up the pages of the new one with more adventures and memories.
