After freezing my butt off at the Ice Art Exhibition,
I badly needed some warmth. What’s more (heart)warming than italian
food? None. None, I tell you! Well, maybe except hot chocolate. But
that’s a drink. So yes, italian food.

We headed to Prego over at City Hall for our Joe Bastianich* fix. (*- sorry guys, I discovered Master Chef late.)

Prego is an italian trattoria that gives homage to the great country not just through food but also through its dining experience. I found it a bit too bright but as Mr F&B Extraordinaire pointed out, it serves breakfast to dinner; having breakfast in a darkly painted room would be horrible.

a quick look at their menu
not your usual bread basket. I love the contrast of the crunch with the softness of the focaccia.

Capesante in Crosta – scallops served on a bed of pumpkin puree. It was okay, but to be honest, I was expecting more from this dish.
Crema di Funghi – always a favorite! this mushroom soup is probably one of the bests in Singapore.
Lasagna – wanted something tomato based for this visit so I had the lasagna. It was super filling and definitely homey! However, my top Prego pasta dish would still have to be the spinach and ricotta ravioli.

Risotto Frutti di Mare – it’s appearance doesn’t do it justice! It looks very unappetizing but it’s actually very tasty and not surprisingly, yummy.
cafe latte
Tiramisu – I am generally not a tiramisu fan but the one from Prego is absolutely amazeballs. Make sure to save room for dessert coz this can make you into a tiramsu convert.

Prego is located at Fairmont Hotel Level 1, 80 Bras Basah Road Singapore 189560
