In case you haven’t heard, ice carvers from Harbin have an on-going exhibit here in Singapore. Flying to China can get very expensive (and not to mention very very verrrryyyy cold) so the 2Degree Ice Art is the next best thing. It’s situated beside Tower 3 of Marina Bay Sands, and inside you get to see different landmarks of the world carved in ice. It ends next week 15 May so if you need a little more convincing, here’s a photo diary of my visit there.
I’ve always thought I love the cold but once inside, I was frrrreeeziiiing. Good thing you can rent these coats coz I initially planned to bring my own which let’s be honest, is not warm enough for subzero temperatures.

We timed our visit to “Snow Time” where they turn on the snow machine and pump out snow

as you can see, I was really thrilled as I’ve never seen actual snow before

do you want to build a snow mannn?

Luke said it was actually more of shaved ice though, but still, snowww!
the stages of freezing according to me: 1- yay cold! 2- agggh! i’m freezing! 3- gone crazy coz of the cold.

pretty obvious how much fun we had being little kids in this fantasy ice world. ♫let it gooo, let it gooo!♫

All in all, the exhibit was rather small but considering they’d need more power to cool a bigger venue and more sculptures (aka: CO2 emission anyone?), it’s forgivable. It’s a real visual treat and it was a nice change from the hot Singapore weather (although I fell sick the next day, haha!) Go check it out for yourself! Tickets are available on Sistic.

xx
