I used to joke about wanting to marry a half-Italian half-Japanese man who loves to cook so I can eat yummy traditional Italian/Japanese food all day everyday. Yep, I love these two cuisines that much. I’ve long since given up that dream (good bye volumes of family recipes, *tear*) but I’ve come to the conclusion that being with someone who shares the same food preference is just as good. Even better too coz no need to do the dishes after, haha! Most of the food posts on this blog are Italian-centric so it’s hightime I introduce you to our company’s favorite resto – Kushi.

Kushi is a dining bar that serves sumptuous Japanese cuisine using only the freshest ingredients in an ala-carte buffet setting. From SGD49.90/++ per adult, you get to stuff yourself to your heart’s and tummy’s content. What’s best is that because it’s ala-carte style, the food is prepared as you order so no stale nori here. The menu is pretty much a picture book and it can be a bit overwhelming coz everything looks so good (don’t worry, I have yet to try a miss), but if you don’t have a bottomless pit of a stomach, better not waste food by over ordering, yes? Photos below were taken during our department’s visit last August. Having gone here a couple of times, the 3 of us stuck to our favorites.. maybe your future favorite too. 😉

Oysters
Pitan Tofu, one is never enough!
Mixed Sashimi: hamachi, meikajiki, salmon (behind the lemon), maguro, shiro maguro, amaebi
Chuka Kurage and Chuka Iidako (jellyfish and octopus)
Ribeye Steak. Okay, my #1 favorite food in the whole entire world is STEAK. I’m so glad I get my steak fix together with my japanese fix. I mean, look at that steak! Perfect medium rare. Sooo good!
California handrolls. I’ve only recently appreciated handrolls coz I always thought it was messy. Now, I swear by it! More goodies per bite as compared to maki.
Ebi Tempura, my all time favorite
Veggies
Rainbow Roll
I wasn’t able to take photos of the yakitori we sampled and we had second rounds of some dishes. By the end of the meal, we were so stuffed! However, when I heard there was Green Tea ice cream, I ordered my tummy to make more room. I wasn’t able to take a photo coz I (shamefully) chiong-ed through it… 3 times. 🙁
This is just a small portion of their menu. You can check out the full menu on their website. If you love Japanese food like I do, Kushi is a restaurant in Singapore that you cannot miss. Good food, in proper Singlish- got standard one hor, without hurting your pocket.

Don’t forget to make a reservation coz tables are really in demand! Maybe I’ll see you there too coz as I type, I am already salivating for my next visit.

Kushi is located at #03-01 Hotel Royal, 36 Newton Road, Singapore 307964

xx
