AN AFTERNOON WITH SALVADOR DALI AND JOLLIBEE

One of the things I miss about life pre-Singapore was having chill days wherein my agenda was pretty much empty except for maybe one or two quick errands. Nowadays, it’s impossible for me to have one given my limited number of leaves and my constant desire to travel. I’m glad I was able to have a taste of my old favorite freelance perk one afternoon when I had to come down to the Philippine Embassy. It was a really enjoyable stroll, so let me relive it with you and share a very important Jollibee tip too. 😉

When I stepped out off the Orchard MRT station, I was greeted by this sculpture. The melted clock caught my eye and I was like, heyyyy?! Upon closer look I confirmed it was a Salvador Dali. My heart literally fluttered as I couldn’t believe I was *this* close to a Salvador Dali work and nobody even seemed to care.

Turns out Opera Gallery was having an exhibit called “A Retrospective Journey 1994-2014” and some sculptures overspilled into Orchard. Okay, now you guys know how old this backlog entry is, hehe. If you want to check out some art, visit Opera Gallery at Ion.

I was so inspired by the pieces that I thought hey, this is turning out to be a really interesting day so I should probably document it for the blog. I look cute today so, okay, time for outfit shots.

I found this spot before leaving Orchard to cross to Nassim Road.

After outfit shots and a long walk, I was finally in the Philippine Embassy. A really hot (literally) and expensive place.

After getting some documents stamped, I made my way back to Orchard enduring the heat and entertaining myself by taking photos. :))

I was already pretty beat so I plopped down the Delfi bus stop instead of walking some more.

Where was I going? Lucky Plaza.

I need myself some Jollibee but alas, 2pm on a Thursday and there was a massive queue.

So here’s my valuable Jollibee hack..

Don’t go to the main store at the 6th level. Go to the first floor food court at the back, there’s a Jollibee stall there and I’ve never seen the line there as long as the other one. You’re welcome!
