I love to eat. I think that’s the main reason why I’ve gained so much weight here in Singapore. But before you all give me a collective “DUH!!!“, let me elaborate a bit. Living on your own means you’re in charge of taking care of your own meals. As much as I love the place I’m staying in, I’ve never felt fully comfortable in someone else’s kitchen. So that means, eating out. Imagine you’re a foodie in a brand new environment, of course you’re gonna want to try everything! Too bad for me tasting portions aren’t really common. I admit I may have gone overboard since not only is the food scene new to me, earning my own money and choosing what to do with it is too. I’m guilty of indulging in dining experiences that I purposely scrimp on everything else but. #YOLO (do people still say that?), carpe diem.. or carpe di-yum! I promise (what’s with me and making promises on the blog recently?!) that I’ll start working on better eating habits and a strict fitness regimen asa  who am I kidding, it’s the freakin’ holidays, next year.

But for now, let me look back and share what is probably my favorite foodie moment of 2015 – the Artichoke x Cocotte collab brunch held last April.

It’s by reservation only and you have to pay before hand. It was really in demand and fully-booked but luckily there were last minute cancellations so I was able to change my table for 2 into a table for 3 coz my mom popped into town. Boo yeah!

My boyfriend and my mom tucked into our little corner in the super cute and charming Cocotte Restaurant over at Dickson Road.

my super excited face!

Chef Anthony Yeoh and Chef Bjorn Shen before service started.

Our menu for the day! A bit of a warning, the post below contains photos of EACH course. Don’t scroll down on an empty stomach!

Beetroot tzatziki

colorful salad with fresh blooms

clams with fennel cream
our table’s favorite – Feta Burrata with dressed tomatoes
scrambled eggs on Baharat mushrooms

seabass with quinoa

broccoli and anchovies
chicken with remoulade
“Everything Chips” Tabbouleh with Labneh – THIS ONE WAS SOOOO GOOD!!!

Chicken Liver, escaoutoun

roast chicken with port wine cream

Artichoke’s famous LAMBGASM

Cocotte’s yummy dessert cart

Look at me super star struck, oh my god, I look like a fangirl (coz I am, haha!)
Seriously though, this brunch took the cake (pun intended) last 2015. The $62++ was really worth it for the free-flow brunch trolley of my favorite restaurant in collaboration with another good eatery. You get the best of both worlds – French and Middle-Eastern inspired if you haven’t figured it out, haha – at a very reasonable price in a super cute cafe. Hopefully, there’ll be more our way. Or not. I hope not, because that would mean eating more. But it’s soo good. Okay, I better end this before I spook you out with me arguing with myself. Haha! If you haven’t yet, or if  like me, you have and you LOVE it, be sure to drop by both. 😉
