I’ve always attributed June to new beginnings, even happily tweeting a couple of years back that the start of the second half of the year never fails to get me so energized. Only for my good friend Solis to tweet back that, technically, the second half of the year starts in JULY. Hahaha! Anyway, June 2016 is gonna be extra crazy/special. For one thing, I have officially resigned from my job. It was a long time coming having previously mentioned my intentions last June 2015, only to try out a different role after, then ultimately deciding that it wasn’t for me. I looove the company I worked for and the people in it have been family to me, so yesterday, my last day at work, was super emotional.
That was me at around 5:15pm when my colleagues surprised me with my favorite cake. The poofy eyes and red nose have been with me the whole day though, haha!
As if that’s not enough to entail an extra crazy/special June 2016, I’m also leaving Singapore in a week’s time. And the best part? I’m not sure what will happen next. I applied to the American University of Paris for the MA in Global Communications, but ever since getting accepted, my chances of going are diminishing by the day. Let’s just say the odds (or the financial gods, haha) are not exactly in my favor. I am holding on to a sliver of hope but I think it’s time to be realistic now and consider other options.
As seemingly messed up as it is, being unemployed and going back home, I am surprisingly less anxious than I was when I made those decisions. I know and believe that this is temporary. I know that things are about to get better because I have finally come to terms with what I want out of life and where I want it to take me. And, yes, I am now brave enough to go after it. Yezzzah.
So here’s to the rest of the year and the crazy, special, AMAZING things that will happen to us and that we will accomplish!
